No Reservation Required
The walk around the Silver Lake Reservoir is 2.2 miles, which by our math entitles you to dinner. From the Junction, head up Glendale Blvd and the road carries you straight through Atwater into Glendale — about fifteen minutes door to door, and you're at 625 E Colorado St with actual parking, both street and lot. That last part shouldn't be a selling point, but you live in Silver Lake, so it is. Bring the dog-walking crew, bring a date, bring the friend who claims they know a better spot — we like our odds.
What you get here isn't reinvented or deconstructed. Meat stacked and seasoned in-house, turned slowly on the spit all day, carved when you order so the crisp edges land in your wrap and not in a warming tray. The toum is whipped fresh — garlic with intent — and it's the thing people text their group chats about afterward. We've watched plenty of Silver Lake skeptics arrive with arms crossed and leave asking whether the toum is sold by the tub. (It should be. We're working on it.)
After the Bars on Sunset
Sunset Junction keeps a respectable nightlife, but its kitchens tap out early. Ours doesn't. We're open until 2 AM every night, and a 15-minute drive at midnight is nothing — the boulevard is empty and the spit is still turning when you arrive. It's become a quiet ritual for a certain kind of Silver Lake night: last round on Sunset, then north for shawarma.
